Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Carrie Lou Rogers, age 92 of Cleveland. Mrs. Rogers passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014. Funeral services are scheduled for 2;00 pm, Sunday, November 30, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Donnie Wilkes and Rev. Garry Hefner. Interment will follow in Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Rogers was born in White County, Georgia on April 11, 1922 to the late Thomas Thompson and Mary Bentley Thompson. She was retired from Huntington Nursing Home, which is now Friendship Healthcare and Rehabilitation m, where she was a Cook. Mrs. Rogers was a longtime member of Center Grove Baptist Church and is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Rogers, daughter, Jerilyn Rogers, grandchildren, Bryan Scero and Linda Wiley and sons in law, Lindsey Wiley, Ricky Dyer and Al Scero. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Lou Scero, Gilbert, S.C., Ruth Stockton, Port Charlotte, Fl (Bill), Joyce Wiley, Lula, Annette Dyer, Cleveland, ; sons, Ernest Rogers, Cleveland(Sandra), Garrison Rogers, Gaston, S.C..(Gertrude), Earl Rogers, Cleveland (Peggy), Kenneth Rogers, Cleveland(Barbara), Clay Rogers, Cleveland (Donna) and Ray Rogers of Cleveland; sister, Mary Nelson of Missouri and brothers, Chester Thompson of Cleveland and Buford Thompson of Cornelia. Mrs. Rogers is also survived by her 27 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 4 to 8pm
