Cleveland Funeral Home announces that Joeanne Rothwell Black, age 95 of Clarksville, Ga passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. Joeanne was born on March 4, 1924 to the late Wade Rothwell and the late Mildred Lanning Rothwell in Rock island, Illinois.
75 years ago, she met and later married the man of her dreams, Marvin Black. They moved back to this area from Atlanta over 20 years ago. Joeanne spent all of her adult life as a homemaker and committed all of her efforts to her family, her friends, and her hobbies. She was an avid gardener, artist, writer, and always enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and best friend, Marvin.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Black is preceded in death by a son, Stephen Black; and brothers, Gerald and Wade Rothwell.
She is survived by her loving husband, Marvin Black of Clarksville; Son, Michael Black of Dahlonega; Daughters, Laurel Marks of Kennesaw and Jennifer Vullo of Clarksville; Grandchildren, Michelle Blankenship, Paige Bird, Amanda Marks, Beau Marks, Allison Black, Jason Vullo, Jonathan Vullo, Gina Vullo; Great Grandchildren, Bronson Marks, Cameron Marks, Nora Carter, Billy Marks, Jaden Black, and Nikki Black. She is also survived by her beloved four-legged companion, Coco- her Chihuahua.
A visitation will be held at Cleveland Funeral Home on Sunday, April 14, 2019 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place following the visitation in the chapel of the Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Stuart officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends and family again for a short time of fellowship and light refreshments.
