Lauren McDonald III

Funeral Director / Owner of Cleveland, Cumming, & Dahlonega Chapels

Lauren and his wife, Claire, live in Cumming with their two sons, Wylie, Ridley and daughter, Hailey. A proud graduate of the University of Georgia, Lauren is also a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service. He currently serves as a member of the Georgia State Board of Funeral Service.

He is an active member of Cumming First United Methodist Church, Lanier-Forsyth Rotary Club, Cumming/Forsyth Chamber of Commerce, and the Yaarab Shrine of Atlanta. Lauren serves on the board of a number of local organizations including the Northeast Georgia Red Cross, Forsyth County Arts Association, Northeast Georgia Boy Scouts and the United Way of Forsyth County.

In his spare time, Lauren has served as a volunteer fireman with Forsyth County for 21 years. He is also an elected official in Forsyth County.

Having always lived in the Atlanta area, Claire was born at Piedmont Hospital, graduated from Walton High School in Marietta, graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens with a Bachelor of Science in biology and worked for her family's manufacturing company in Smyrna for twelve years.

Claire and her husband, Lauren, married in 2001 and live in Cumming with their three children: Wylie, Ridley and Hailey. In 2014 she completed her studies at Ogeechee Technical Institute and received her Funeral Service Education degree.  She is a licensed funeral director and embalmer.

Claire is an active member at Cumming First United Methodist Church and a member of UMW. She is a past executive member of the UMW Board and has served on the committee for the consignment sale for the past few years.


Lauren 'Bubba' McDonald

McDonald, who served 20 years as a state Representative, was appointed to the PSC by Governor Zell Miller to fill a vacated post and then re-elected in a special mid-term election in 1998. He held the seat until 2002. On December 2, 2008, Georgians elected McDonald to serve on the PSC again.
McDonald has a deep knowledge of the energy industry. During his previous term, he served on the Committee on Electricity of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, chairing that body's subcommittee on Nuclear Issues and Waste Disposal in 2001 and 2002. Today he is a member of NARUC's Electric Committee and Nuclear Subcommittee.
McDonald has spent decades serving the residents of Georgia. As a state Representative, he chaired the Industry Committee for five years and the Appropriations Committee for eight years. He also served as a commissioner in Jackson County, served on the Board of Managers of the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia, and volunteered as a Firefighter for the city of Commerce for 35 years and served as its Chief for 25 years..
A native of Commerce who now resides in Clarkesville, McDonald is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a BBA in Business. He has long been a supporter of higher education, serving on the Board of Governors of Mercer Medical College and the Board of the Advanced Technology Center at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He was also a director of the Small Business Development Center at the University of Georgia.
McDonald has lived his entire life within District Four of the PSC. Currently, he is a partner in L.W. McDonald & Son Funeral Home in Cumming, with his son, Lauren III. He was married to his late wife Sunny Nivens McDonald of Gainesville GA for 45 years. He is an elder in the Presbyterian Church, a private pilot, and an avid golfer. He Married Shelley Hailey McDonald in 2012.

Jordan Dawson

Jordan is a 2012 Graduate of White County High School and a 2016 Graduate of Piedmont Technical Colleges Mortuary Science program. Jordan began working here part time in 2014 and fell in love with the industry and the families that we serve. Jordan began full time in 2017 and was moved into a management position of this location later the same year. 

Jordan is married to Lindsey (Hulsey) Dawson, another native of White County. Lindsey is a full time teacher at Mount Yonah Elementary School and works at the funeral home part time. They are both members of Chattahoochee Baptist Church where Jordan serves as an usher, a Kids S.T.U.F.F. food server, and is also on the Cemetery committee. 

Being a native of White County and with such a true love for the community, Jordan is a board member of Rotary, a Volunteer Fire Fighter,  and can be found almost any weekend cheering on the White County Warriors at some sort of contest of any age level.

Tink is a native of Cleveland and graduated from White County High School.  She has been a part time funeral associate for many years now and works full time at the White County Courthouse for Probate Judge Garrison Baker. 

She lives in Cleveland and is the mother of Shelby and Jesse.  She is very active in the community and has a love for her hometown and the people in it.  She also works in the Children’s Ministry at Northside Church.

Most people want to know how she got the name “Tink” as her actual birth name is Marcia Davis. She was the first born grandchild and her Papa JD Coker picked her up and said “This is my little Tinkerbell” and that name simply stuck!

In her spare time, Tink enjoys being with family and friends and you will always see (OR HEAR) her at most all sporting events supporting her White County Warriors


Canaan Eldridge

Canaan is sophomore at White County High School and is very involved in the Raider Team, in JROTC. He has been helping us part time through the school year, and full time throughout the summer. Canaan is the son of Billy and Shannon Eldridge and he has 3 brothers, Nicholas, Luke, and Gavin. 

In Canaans off time, he enjoys being outdoors for any and all reasons from helping someone build something, to practicing baseball with the local HEROS team. 

After high school, Canaan hopes to be able to remain at Cleveland Funeral Home as a Funeral Assistant.
